CBG Hemp Oil
Another commonly found form of hemp oil, is CBG dominant hemp oil. This so-called CBG oil is either Cannabigerol (CBG) dominant or contains an equal amount of CBG and CBD; and therefor acts differently in the body compared to CBD hemp oil. Accordingly, CBG hemp oil offers a very different experience and effect than CBD hemp oil does.

Other cannabinoids in hemp oil
Most of the hemp oil available online and in stores today contain dozens of other active ingredients too, though. So-called ‘full spectrum’ hemp oil contains all of the cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. That means including trace amounts of the psychoactive cannabinoid D9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). However, fully compliant with EU-laws, DNH Hemp Oil will never contain enough THC for consumers to actually experience psychoactive effects. In these low concentrations, this substance merely supports CBD’s entourage-effect in the body.
Besides CBD and THC, full spectrum hemp oil should also contain cannabinoids such as Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabichromene (CBC) and Cannabinol (CBN), to name a few. When a hemp oil contains all cannabinoids except THC, it’s called broad spectrum oil. Lastly, there is also CBD oil with only Cannabidiol: Pure CBD oil. However, scientific evidence shows that consuming a greater variety of cannabinoids will probably be more effective than using isolated CBD oil. This is the so-called entourage effect mentioned above.
Terpenes in hemp oil
While cannabinoids might appear the most important ingredients. There are other elements from hemp found in these oils which should not be underestimated: terpenes. Terpenes are the aromatic compounds that give plants and flowers, including hemp varieties, their unique scent. But what many might not know, is that terpenes are also for a large part responsible for hemp oil’s effects in the body.

How hemp oil is made
As said before, hemp oil is made using an extraction from the hemp plant and a carrier oil. Hemp extractions (like CBD Paste) are often made with a solvent like alcohol or a gas. This is used to extract the active ingredients from the plant material, leaving you with a thick paste-like structure containing the valuable components from hemp. In some cases, these extracts may be refined to purify or eliminate certain cannabinoids for broad spectrum or pure CBD hemp oils. While for full spectrum oils the raw CBD Paste is used without further processing.
However, these thick extracts are very difficult to work with - so not really suited for easy consumption or precise CBD dosing. That is exactly why these extracts are diluted with a carrier oil like hemp seed oil, grape seed oil or olive oil, to name a few. Though we at DNH prefer to use high grade hemp seed oil for our blends. As these contain a high level of healthy fatty acids like Omega-3 and Omega-6; and it keeps our hemp oil as close to the plant as possible. Providing consumers with the most plant-natural CBD we can offer, so you can experience the best possible hemp oil benefits.
Hemp oil benefits
Because preliminary scientific research and anecdotal evidence shows, that hemp oil might have various positive effects on our health and/or well-being. This is due to the unique interaction cannabinoids like CBD have with our body’s own endocannabinoid system (ECS). An internal communication system composed of countless receptors found throughout the entire body.
By connecting to these receptors - just like our body’s own cannabinoids would - it appears substances like CBD from hemp oil could help regulate all sorts of processes in the body. Ranging from pain to hunger and everything in between. This is thought to be the reason why CBD hemp oil shows to be effective in soothing all sorts of ailments and discomforts. With anecdotal evidence and scientific reports already showing the potential benefits of CBD hemp oil in areas such as: chronic pain management, anxiety and stress, nerve damage, insomnia and more.
