That potential is why we choose hemp. At the same time, we look beyond the crop itself: cultivation, processing, packaging and transport all count. We want every step to be considered, transparent and continuously improved.

Why hemp is different

  • A full cycle takes about four months, so one field can deliver far more raw material per year than slower crops — less land for the same yield.

  • Its deep taproot reaches moisture other crops cannot, so hemp often thrives on rainfall alone and puts far less pressure on local water supplies.

  • Dense growth crowds out weeds and the plant fends off most pests by itself — so nothing has to be sprayed onto the crop, the soil or the groundwater.

  • Leaves and stalks fall back onto the field and return nutrients to the soil. Hemp is often used as a rotation crop: it leaves the ground in better shape than it found it.

  • Hemp flowers late in the season, when little else does — a valuable food source for pollinators, while the tall canopy shelters birds and insects.
